June 11th, 2010
A drugs company is to open a new multimillion pound facility that will create 65 research and development jobs.
Pharmaceutical experts Quay Pharma specialise in testing and designing new products for the industry.

Drive for hydrogen creates new jobs
June 9th, 2010
The University of Glamorgan is creating 20 posts as part of its drive to create a more hydrogen-focused Welsh economy.
The posts encompass chemists, physicists, engineers, biotechnologists, modellers and economists, and will be funded by the £6.3m CymruH2Wales project that the university launched earlier this year.
CymruH2Wales aims to develop capacity for the industrial development of hydrogen technologies.
Professor Alan Guwy said: “These posts are a really positive sign that hydrogen research and development can deliver huge economic benefits. We are hoping to attract the best researchers in order to ensure a significant concentration of academic and industrial hydrogen expertise for the project.”

Employment outlook survey shows improvement
June 8th, 2010
There is continued bad news for employment in Wales as a recruitment survey shows employers expect a net reduction in payrolls over the next three months.
It is the eighth consecutive quarter in which employers in Wales have reported negative hiring intentions.
The trend, however, is upwards, with the net employment outlook at its most positive since 2008.
The Manpower Employment Outlook Survey, based on responses from more than 2,100 UK employers, shows how many employers in Wales plan to reduce head count levels during the next three months.
The figure is arrived at by subtracting the percentage of employers expecting to hire more staff from those expecting to reduce staff.
